But before he realizes it, the two of them arrive at a crossroads. Specifically, it's the one where they split up in order to head home, Yamaguchi going left and Tsukishima continuing on straight. Tsukishima pauses out of habit more than anything. There's a moment of hesitation, like he might stop and say something... but then he lifts his hand in a wave and continues onward. ]

[ And this time, it's not going to take a year and a half for Tsukishima to follow up on his farewell. He arrives at Yamaguchi's house right before sunset, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt just like he'd said he would. When he catches sight of Yamaguchi he lifts his hand in a wave. ]
Yeah but there should be some good food! [With no insult there he just laughs off the question. He was able to get excited about things but without Tsukki there it seemed most were annoyed with it. It was nice to have his friend back.
Looking towards his home, he watches Tsukki walk away and feels a little sad although the 'see you' did help it. He knows the other won't vanish again right? They were going to the same place tomorrow after all.]

[Inside he breaths a sigh of relief, glad for it not being too awkward at least. The next day he puts on his yukata, though it's simple with some splashes of color. Walking out he sees the other and trots over to him waving with a grin.]</small
Yeah! I found my yukata! You ready?
Mmhm. [ Tsukishima, for once, doesn't bother pointing out that there's no point in him being here unless he is ready. He's actually in a pretty good mood tonight and perfectly content to just roll with how the evening goes. He starts off down the street, shortening his stride a little so that Yamaguchi won't have any issues keeping up. ]
The guy at the convenience store said it was supposed to last until midnight, and there's going to be fireworks at nine. [ That's plenty of time to do as they please, in other words. ] But right after the fireworks there's some sort of random pairing dance for singles. [ And going by Tsukishima's tone, that's something he hopes they can avoid. ]
[It was more a habit to ask, they could have stopped to get water or things like that. Yamaguchi just figured it was good to ask that sort of thing after all. Quickly he catches up to his friend and chuckles a little as they walk. Of course Tsukki was the same as always.]
Yeah? Fireworks would be great to see! [They could play some games and all. He was glad he brought his small backpack for holding cash or other things.] Eh? Really? [All too easily he can tell he doesn't want any of that.]
We could always head home afterwards? You know you're welcome to spend the night at my place, my parent left for some trip.
[They could watch tv or something, if he didn't want to deal with couple dance things.]
I don't mind waiting if you want to dance. [ His tone is a little contemptuous, but not outright disparaging. He won't begrudge Yamaguchi any sort of fun he wants to have, especially not when Tsukishima can make his own fun by privately mocking all of the other terrible dancers.

This time, however, his response is nearly immediate. ] Staying at your place sounds fine. [ Getting in that late he definitely won't be able to avoid his brother; staying at Yamaguchi's is just safer. ]
Huh? Aha, no I'm fine...I'm not good at dancing. [Besides he would rather not dance with some stranger. It would be more fun with Tsukishima but he's sure they both might suck at it...or at least he will and step on Tsukki's feet.]
Okay! [Maybe there was more excitement in that than he should shown. He was glad that the other didn't say no though, they could spend the entire night together now.]
The festival isn't too far at least. We should grab something to eat when we get there.
