Being yanked from his world and trapped in that bizarre school for several months on end had been bad enough. Finally escaping said school only to end up in a third, completely different world had been an annoying and highly unwanted second helping of bad luck. Yet despite that, Kimizuki has gotten oddly lucky since arriving.
For one, Tokyo apparently exists in this world, and it apparently isn't too different from his own. So when a vampire gets a little too pushy on his first day on this new town, and when Kimizuki responds a little too aggressively for this world's standards, he's quickly arrested and hauled off from interrogation. But then when the police (he's extremely alarmed to learn that one of them is also a vampire) hear that he's from Tokyo they go from alarmed and suspicious to considerate and understanding. For a human from Tokyo to have such a bad reaction to a vampire makes sense, after all, with how bad things are down there. The police had taken down Kimizuki's information (name, age, current lack of residence) and released him without anything more than a lecture and a warning.
For another stroke of luck, his skills and Kiseki-ou are both apparently considerable and rare enough to attract positive attention. A different member of the police force (and another vampire, he's annoyed to realize) flags down Kimizuki before he leaves and gives him an offer: if he's new in town and looking for a place to stay, why not consider the school? They're always accepting new students, especially such strong human students, and refugees are given free room and board.
Kimizuki doesn't accept right away of course. He takes a few days to raid the library and learn as much about this world as possible, but in the end he doesn't see an alternative. Admitting he's from another world doesn't strike him as wise, and finding work outside of the school is apt to take a while. So he applies for the school and passes the entrance exam, then applies to be an 'enforcer' for the student council and passes that exam, too. Both tasks are surprisingly easy and, what's more, he gets in right before the start of the fall trimester. That's plenty of time to move into his dorm room, and thus plenty of time to meet his partner in the student council room the day before school starts. Whoever it is will be a vampire, which is annoying, but when he steps into the room he gets yet another lucky break.
"Yuuki?" Kimizuki manages to sound startled, relieved, and accusing all at once. He wouldn't say that he like Yuuki, per se, but when it comes to vampires he's being forced to work alongside and play nice with she's definitely in the top five. Probably even number one. He just hopes it's actually her, and not some other version of her that has no idea who he is.

When she had abruptly appeared, it had been in the middle of the night. At first, she had thought it had to be a trick of the school. It played with the mind, and no one had come close to escaping the confines of its walls. But after she realized it truly wasn't an illusion, she thought, for one hopeful moment, that she had returned home. It looked like it could have been any town back within her own world, even if she didn't recognize the city itself. Chitose, she had learned after the fact, a mysterious town up north, located somewhere in the middle of Hokkaido.
In her attempt to find her way back to Cross Academy or gather any information at all, she had quickly realized no one was familiar with her school, Inugami, or the events that had taken place over the past several months. To press the issue would have been a had idea, but that had left her in the middle of a strange town, with nothing but the clothes on her back, and Artemis. People had taken notice of her almost immediately. More accurately, it was the vampires who did. One after another had approached in curiosity, bowed, and inquired just what family she was from. They were able to tell, of course, that she was a pureblood.
Rather than give her family name, she had simply introduced herself using her adoptive father's, if only to be safe. She had made an attempt or two to inquire about the Kuran clan, but it had yielded no fruit. What was more curious than the nobles who had taken an interest in her, something her brother had warned her about as a natural part of her lineage, was the other beings that resided within this town. Creatures other than human, with bright red eyes, the color of blood. They reminded her of vampires, but felt... different. Off, in a way that she couldn't describe. It begged more questions than she had received answers to.
Ultimately, it all came down to this. Here, in a new school, in a new uniform, she now resides. She gazes at her reflection in the mirror, a frown marring her lips. So this is to be her new home.
While lost, it hadn't taken long for word to travel. A new pureblood had appeared. The authorities had arrived quickly, hunters, vampires, and the strange others among them. All of them had been generous, and treated her respectfully, but with an uncertain wariness, too. Where had she come from, they questioned in a way that seemed friendly, but held suspicion beneath the surface. How was it that a pureblood couldn't recall? It made Yuuki uneasy herself, aware that her lack of knowledge here could very easily be used against her. Her status, apparently, afforded her a place to stay, until it was decided that she would attend a school. It was part of a project to bridge relations between the various factions that resided within the town, in the hopes that it could expand elsewhere.
How familiar. The school, the purpose behind it, down the the structure of the classes reminds her so much of Cross Academy back home. She's very aware, however, that this is not her world. And she has to wonder, with some level of dismay, if someone somewhere had found a way out of Inugami, only to mix up the world she truly belongs to. And if that's the case, what does it mean for her here in this new world, where no one is aware of the events that took place in that school?
Because of her status as a pureblood, she's been given one of the largest rooms in the academy to herself, lavishly furnished. She's been guaranteed that she would be taken care of. Although Yuuki is under no illusion. The reason she's been brought here, undoubtedly, is because there's a use for her. The problem is, she has no real options right now. Apparently there's another pureblood that resides within the school, but that person is gone on important business at the moment, which makes her the talk of the school.
She isn't the only one, however.
She barely passed the entrance exam by the skin of her fangs. The instructor who had given her the test seemed shocked and embarrassed that someone of her supposed caliber had done so poorly. They had rushed to explain, as though it would make her feel better, that it was likely due to the stress she was under. She had no heart to explain that school simply didn't come easy to her, and assured them she'd work extra hard in class. What had interested her more, however, was the group she had come to learn was called 'the enforcers'. It was something similar to the disciplinary committee back home, school guardians who assured that peace was kept upon school grounds. At first the chairman and those in charge had been surprised by her desire to join. They had assured her she didn't need to take on such a role, and that she should allow others to do that work for her. But she had insisted.
Which brings her back to the present. There's another new student, similar to her, but human. Because both are outsiders, and in an effort to further emphasis peace, she had been told they would be partners. Enforcers, apparently, always work in twos. But she hasn't prepared herself. Not for the person who steps through the student council doors.
Large brown eyes widen, and she blinks rapidly, her surprise clear as day as her gaze lifts upon a familiar face.
"You. . . " It can't be. Her own name falls from his lips, and she realizes that he's like her. He has to have come from Inugami too. Relief, shock, and confusion filter across her face in an obvious display of emotion. She speaks before she can even think. "Kimizuki-kun!? How--?"
They haven't always gotten along the best. But they aren't enemies, either. At least she's never considered him as such. While back at school, she had done what she could to get along with all of them. Especially because she considered Mikaela a friend. She crosses over to him, lifting a hand up to point at herself.
"Me!? Y-You really do recognize me? Yuuki, from that creepy school?" Just to make sure things are clear.
